Position Summary:
The Assistant Professor of Computer Science & Cybersecurity is a full-time position, responsible to provide excellence in teaching through the fulfillment of the missions and strategic goals of the School of Science & Engineering. This is an onsite, in person teaching position that is promotable and eligible for extended contract.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach a combination of core computer science and cybersecurity classes along with upper-level classes in area of expertise.
• Hold regularly scheduled office hours, advise students in cybersecurity and computer science as assigned, supervise student internships and projects and actively participate in the recruitment of students on behalf of the department and University.
• Participate in department/faculty meetings, university committees, and convocations, commencements, discipline-specific professional associations and other functions.
• Develop and pursue scholarly work in an area of research that incorporates undergraduate students.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Minimum two (2) years of industry or research experience in cybersecurity with an understanding of current threats, emerging technologies, and best practices
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community
Nice To Have:
• Previous teaching experience at the university level
• Ph.D. in Computer Science

• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
